Meeting Uncle Austin

Last week Lawrence met his uncle Austin for the first time.  Nicole and Lawrence had a great time in Kentucky spending lots of time with family.

Clayton continues to look for a summer internship. He has a lead on an internship in Moscow, Russia. We are praying that things come together to make this work. Clayton is brushing up on his Russian and Nicole started learning Russian, just in case.

One more week until spring break!

Putting the "Cheer" in Cheerios

Lawrence began feeding himself Cheerios this week. He loves being independent and getting to feed himself. He is also a messy eater, so we are continually sweeping and cleaning soggy Cheerios of the floor. He also played on the swing. He likes to be outside and playing.

Nicole went on an art walk this week. She went to several galleries and talked to artists about their work and her work. One artist she talked with was particularly impressed with the pieces she is working on now.

Clayton's two big projects this week were changing the brakes in the van, and the Religious Freedom Moot Court Competition. He is relieved to be finished with both projects and looking forward to a less hectic schedule for the rest of the semester.

Chinaman

Lawrence is looking good in his chinaman suit. He loved the ribbon toggles on the front. He is active and happy. He loves to climb the stairs and get into cupboards.  Lawrence also tried spicy Kim-chi. We were surprised that he likes it, as long as it is not too spicy.

We celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary last week. We got a ballroom dance instructional DVD. We are learning to Cha-Cha and Mamba. We also got Phillip Pullman's "His Dark Materials" Trilogy. We are reading it together and loving it.

We had guests over and tried to replicate the Honey Pig, one of our favorite restaurants. The food was pretty good but not quite as good as the Honey Pig.

Winter Break

We had a great Christmas Break. We travelled to Utah and Idaho. It was great to see family and enjoy the SNOW!  We also started what we hope will be a new tradition, the "WTF(What the Frosting?) Gingerbread Showdown." As there was a dispute with the rules this year, we had no rules, next year we plan to make the competition more formal with actual rules. (see pictures below)

Lawrence cut two teeth over the break. He also learned to stand. He can stand on his own for several seconds now. Yesterday,  Lawrence learned to climb stairs. We are having a tough time keeping up with him.

Nicole's sculpture survived our long vacation. It is looking great and she figured out a new way to smooth it; she uses an electric manicure file.

Clayton is back in school. He really enjoys his Trusts and Estates class. The teacher has a lot of interesting stories and the reading is fascinating. He is busy getting ready for the Religious Freedom Moot Court.

Here are some of our favorite pictures from the break.
Lawrence met Santa

Lawrence went ice skating. (He kept kicking off his shoe)

Lawrence had a falling out with the big guy. Looks like someone was naughty this year.

Lawrence liked having cousin time and teaching Hazel naughty tricks.

Nicole exhibits her more lethal side.
